Summary

While his fiancée Angie is out on one of her many business trips, Shadow gets the house to himself. Eva Maxim, Angie's sister, needs a somewhere to stay for a few days while her house is being fumigated at the same time. Eva has accepted Shadow's invitation to stay, stating that while she's here, she may take the bedroom and Shadow can crash on the couch. Eva suggests that they just share the bed because she doesn't want to bother Shadow any more. Though Shadow is a little apprehensive about it, he welcomes Eva's seeming benevolence and says that he should feel at ease in his own house. Eva begins stripping after saying she'll be ready for bed in a moment. Eva happily replies that she always goes to bed naked when Shadow, taken aback, wonders what she's doing. Eva is informed by Shadow that he does not believe it would be appropriate for him to share his bed with a woman who is NOT his girlfriend and who is naked. He should relax, Eva comfortingly advises, adding that it's not like he has a crush on her. Though agitated, Shadow concedes that it won't be a major issue for a few nights.
